Robert J. Shilliday IIIRobert “Rob” Shilliday has 22 years of trial and litigation experience and focuses his practice upon securities and complex business litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, and out-of-court workouts to avoid the need for bankruptcy relief.  Starting his career at a litigation boutique in Los Angeles, California, Rob concentrated his practice in securities litigation, complex financial fraud, director and officer liability, and the defense of municipal and other governmental entities.  Rob also maintains a thriving bankruptcy and insolvency practice after serving as a law clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California and has successfully guided numerous individual and business entities through Chapter 7 liquidation, reorganization under Chapters 11, 12, and  13 of the Bankruptcy Code, workouts, and the prosecution and defense of non-discharge adversary proceedings, preferences, relief from stay, and other bankruptcy litigation matters.   Rob also served as an Assistant Colorado Attorney General where he represented the Colorado Securities Commissioner in the prosecution of securities fraud and Ponzi schemes, as well as the regulation and licensure of broker-dealers, sales representatives, and investment advisor representatives.  Combining his significant experience in securities regulation, bankruptcy, and complex financial litigation, Rob offers a unique perspective to facilitate the resolution of difficult cases.  Rob is licensed to practice law in California and Colorado and frequently lectures on bankruptcy, insolvency, asset protection, and litigation-related topics and is a contributor to the Annual Survey of Law published by the Colorado Bar Association.
